Short N Sweet

Although we still can't pry the sparklers out of Lludmila's cold, dead hands, we did get her out of those G Field rompers long enough to try on the White Armory group gift for this week.  It's a cute, frothy confection in black and dots and tulle.

Mesh Done Right

Group gift from G Field

Mesh rompers in action.

Lludmila has gotten a few mesh outfits, but they haven't all been unqualified successes.  This halter bow romper, though, has stood up to everything she's given it.  Now if we can just get her to take it off.  That and those sparklers!

Sparklers sold separately.
Hair by Clawtooth.
Jeweled flats an oldie from 50 Flats (can't find it anymore).
Thriller-ish dance the March group gift from MyAnimation.  Y'all are just lucky we aren't doing machinima.

We Go Medieval On Cal

Soanyway - We send Cal out to the Medieval Fantasy Hunt to see what he could find. Cal gave it a valiant effort.  [What I mean is, I ran his avatar while my husband looked over my shoulder every now and then and said, "Is that it there?"]

You know how men are - if they can't find something right away, they decide they didn't want it anyway.  "Shopping" consists of going to the store, finding something, and buying it.  Men go out, find the same pair of shoes they have bought for the last ten years and buy another pair - without even trying them on!  They just don't understand.  You're supposed to try on every pair of shoes that catches your eye (in one or two sizes, just to test out the fit) ... and then buy the same pair you got last time.  [This, in any case, is the way I buy sneakers.]  It's like the Hunter vs. Gatherer gambit.  Women tend to look and look and look, day after day, never buying anything, (driving their menfolk wild), turning over leaves and checking the color and smell.  Then, all of a sudden, we swoop in and buy a whole bunch of ... stuff.  I've had an old boyfriend accuse me of not wanting to commit myself to buying something in front of him.  He just wasn't there when the stuff was "ripe."

Where was I?  Oh, yes - Cal went hunting.  Oh, look!  Just what he needed: another outfit from LnL ... I think half his wardrobe has come from there.  This is classic styling to appeal to the male: black and spiky.  Shoes are from a different ensemble.

This is Cal's "heroic" look.

Dazzled by Dreams offers a Noble Warlord with flare.  Cal seems to have a Dark Captain Picard thing going here.  Boots were provided.  This was a nice touch because boots and shoes to go with men's clothes are not often included.

Somewhere between medieval and Buck Rogers.

~FFS~ also provided boots with Azreal.  Check out the Urban Motley style: parti-chinos and  concrete-grey safari shirt.

Modern Jester.

And Let's Not Forget to Accessorize

The following were not part of a hunt, but they caught Cal's eye.  These boots look like a real deal.  The plain boots were 35L and the armor boots and sandals were 75L.  We may be going back!  We had found the hunt item at [LZ] Creations and some boots at a great price.  We then amused ourselves by looking around at the other small shops.

Where were these a year ago when Cal needed RP boots?!

Also, a trebuchet for 200L!  Whatta steal!  And brown goes with everything, right?

A must-have.

While you're there, test your juggling skills.  Cal tried the eggs and the flaming torches.  Oh, how we laughed.

Men On Fire.*

* This was a headline on the cover of the AARP magazine with a photo of Denzel Washington lionizing hot men over 50 (which now includes Jon Bon Jovi ... wait a minute, Jon Bon Jovi is fifteeee??!!).  I'm not about to rat Cal out here, but ...  Hmm, I do have to admit that the subscription is in my name. Ruh-roh!

Cal's Haul

June group gift from Vero Modero

The new June group gift from Vero Modero comes with a selection of shirts (dragons, gorilla, wolf) or you can show off your chest hair.  This is an excellent group for guys.  All their old group gifts are still out and we've blogged about them before.

Medieval Hunt Prize from PeKaS and Vero Modero May Group gift

PeKaS has some great Midnight Mania board outfits as well as this Medieval Hunt prize: Goldric.  There is also a women's prize, but it didn't look as good on Cal.  Goldric comes with the boots.

Men Only hunt prize mesh jacket

We got the heads-up on the great men's jacket in the Men Only hunt at Kauna from one of our favorite sources, Virtual Vagabond blog.  We're still trying to figure out this mesh thing - but look how well it moves!  The one on the left is the small size, but the belt buckle pointed through, so Cal moved up to medium (on the right).  They both look great (the one on the left is mirrored, the only thing that changes on these is the color of the braiding, which is random).
